Mirror's Edge Demo and SIREN Sale on PSN
Fri, 31 Oct 2008 09:20:00 PDT
The weekly PlayStation Store update came a bit later than usual yesterday, but it was more than worth the wait. The much anticipated demo of Mirror's Edge was released a day ahead of its Xbox 360 counterpart alongside demos of Tom Clancy's EndWar, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2009, and Alone in the Dark: Inferno. The Inferno subtitle indicates that this is an updated version of the game released earlier this year, which developer Eden Games claims will address the problems players had with it. Hopefully the demo is able to show off those changes.
In addition to a load of downloadable content for Rock Band, Civilization Revolution, and a single new song for Guitar Hero World Tour, a week-long sale is in effect to celebrate Halloween. SIREN: Blood Curse, the acclaimed survival horror PSN-only game, is having its price dropped to $30 for the full game or $11 for each chapter bundle. The last thing I needed right now was another game to play, but it's hard to resist a good sale.
If all you have is a PSP, it looks like you're out of luck if they were hoping for much this week. The lone piece of content for PSP is a trailer of Super Stardust Portable. Anything Super Stardust is always good, but a single new video after a nonexistent last week must have PSP owners wondering what good the recent update to add direct access to the PlayStation Store is without any new content flowing in.
